South superstar Naga Chaitanya got engaged on August 8, 2024, to his lady love Sobhita Dhulipala. Reports suggest that Daggubati family members like Venkatesh Daggubati, Rana Daggubati, and Malvika Daggubati do not follow Sobhita on social media. This has led to speculation about possible tensions between the Daggubati and Akkineni families.

A source close to both the families revealed that all these allegations and speculations of tension between the two families are false. The source added that the Daggubati family had organized a tea party for Sobhita after her engagement with Naga Chaitanya. The source further added:
“The Daggubati-Akkineni clan gathered at the Daggubati residence for a warm afternoon tea, with Suresh Babu, Venkatesh and their families in attendance. It was a joyous occasion that highlighted the strong bond between the two families.”

Nagarjuna Akkineni announced the engagement of Chaitanya and Sobhita through an X post
Taking to X, Nagarjuna Akkineni dropped two pictures from Chaitanya and Sobhita’s intimate engagement ceremony and penned a beautiful note along with them. The doting father shared the details of the duo’s engagement, which took place at 9:42 am, and also welcomed Sobhita into his family. He wished the couple a lifetime of love and happiness and wrote:
“We are so happy to announce the engagement of our son, Naga Chaitanya, to Sobhita Dhulipala, which took place this morning at 9:42 am!! We are so excited to welcome her into our family. Congratulations to the happy couple! We wish them a lifetime of love and happiness. God bless them! 8.8.8 A beginning of endless love.”
In the engagement photos, Sobhita looked stunning in a pink silk saree from the racks of Manish Malhotra. She paired the saree with a matching blouse and opted for elegant gold jewellery pieces to complete her look. Meanwhile, her fiancé Chaitanya wore an ivory-hued white kurta-pajamas and a correspondence doshala.
